Hello there students! I am Professor Cassandra Brookvale of Muggle Studies and I thought it would be fun to bring both muggle and magical instruments for our orchestra!
This week's theme is Hogwarts Orchestra!
Your challenge this week is to create a human avatar of you, as a Hogwarts student, playing an instrument in the orchestra. You do not need to play the instrument in real life, but you must choose an instrument to play.
Some rules for this challenge: 1.) Uniforms are allowed. 2.) Singing is not an instrument for this challenge. 3.) You may choose to wear your robes for a concert, uniforms or regular clothes for practice. 4.) NO toads, frogs, or any magical creature as an instrument. 5.) You may use any instruments used by muggles or in the magical world. You may make up your own using wearables, but please add a description as to what it might sound like, what it is, etc. (For example a trash can as a drum.)
Each member may only submit one avatar, and each avatar to successfully adhere to the challenge rules and theme will be awarded 10 House Points!
This challenge will end on Wednesday, October 19 at 11:59PM.
Your Human Avatar MUST have an instrument to earn points.
Little question, how can we invent an instrument that's not a muggle instrument if we need to have an instrument on our HA? Like there are only real instruments as wears. Or like can we put a violin and say it does something different from a normal violin?
What I meant is that maybe someone might want to be creative and transform a can into a wind instrument or use a trash can like a drum. It is a muggle/wizarding item but not necessarily a conventional instrument. It is a way to be creative with items in the wardrobe. Hope this helps!
I added the example to my original post ^_^
NO toads, frogs, or any magical creature as an instrument. cracks up
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
Oh yeah, that makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying!

Ready for the flute solo at the concert :)

Gotta make sure no pets are harmed during the making of an HA ;)
Glad I could help! Thank you for pointing it out! I sometimes type things thinking others can read my mind XD
Merlin is rehearsing his Bongos act on the Slytherin common room, seems like the party is starting.

Mae had to switch from bagpipe to accordion when her housemates complained the sound was deafening. Currently they aren't sure if the change from classical breton music to classical parisian music is better.
oopale, Ravenclaw
ooc: see I didn't do a bagpipe XD

Garrett loves the cello, and apparently so do some of his house mate's kitties, but not his cat, Kiki. No, she runs off whenever he gets his cello out...she is old enough to remember back when Garrett was just starting to learn cello, and has never forgotten the horrible sounds he made.

Fable, Slytherin

Fable can practice with her electric piano in the common room, but to get the full effect of her instrument she must go to a bigger room that can handle her grand.

Aria Quin - Gryffindor
Aria plays the oboe in the school orchestra - she is dressed ready for orchestra practice. She's been playing the oboe since early childhood, due to her mothers insistence that she learn a more subdued and appropriate extracurricular activity for a girl. Aria thinks working on magical skills and playing sports are totally acceptable for a girl, but her mother was a very old fashioned woman.

Public Ping Group - Xanadu Galleria and RAE Collab
I really really extremely want:
Millie has been playing the cello for several years. Even though she has taken a break because of her studies, she always look forward to playing it
Amelia Tudor, Hufflepuff
Gwen plays the Pan Pipes. c: She is practicing today.
Paddy has been practising the violin for a while.... her house mates claim it still sounds like a cat being tortured, so she's only allowed to practise when they're not in the common room! If you're wondering about the lack of shoes, it's quite close to the full moon, so she can't get them to fit comfortably (her claws rub through the leather). At least this time she remembered to keep her hair tied back, so it won't get caught in the strings :P

Megan plays the violin in her spare time. She finds it helps her to think more clearly when she needs to study for hew N.E.W.T.s

Because where's the fun in the more conventional instruments?
CSM, Slytherin

One may not assume it, but Elizabeth loves playing the bagpipes. :)
